3. Houston Texans: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon

It’s hard to pin down the Houston Texans strategy for the 2022 NFL Draft. In a year of low expectations, wild roster turnover, head coach David Culley and company actually exceeded expectations relative to the public eye. Davis Mills has flashed, and bypassing quarterback might be the way. It is in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.

Kayvon Thibodeaux being available at three is shocking, but these things happen in the draft. Thibodeaux could start a rebuild like Jadeveon Clowney did, and be a cornerstone on a defense looking for the guy to lead them. His athleticism, run defense, and high ceiling make for a promising playmaker.

4. New York Jets: Ikem Ekwonu, OT, North Carolina State

The New York Jets have to get better in the trenches. It’s clear that they get worn down late in games, but credit to them and Robert Saleh for inching this team along. They’ve beaten playoff teams and hung in with the Bucs for four quarters. In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, getting more offensive line help takes priority.

Ikem Ekwonu is a mauler at the point of attack, and could form a very good bookend duo with Mekhi Becton. His grip strength is unreal and he’s a true finisher in the pass and run game. Give him a chance at tackle and watch the attitude and physicality he brings.
