19. Philadelphia Eagles: Jermaine Johnson II, EDGE, Florida State
The final of the Eagles first round picks in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft is here, and the question remains: Will the Eagles finally do something about the linebacker position? I think so, but maybe not in the first round. They just don’t value it enough, but what they do value is edge rusher, which could use some depth along with a potential starter.
Jermaine Johnson II has the chance to be a late riser in the 2022 NFL Draft. He’s another who can show out in Mobile. Johnson transferred to Florida State from Georgia and had an impressive 2021 season, finishing with 12 sacks. He’s a fantastic run defender with upside as a pass rusher.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Matt Corral, QB, Mississippi
Somehow, some way, the Pittsburgh Steelers are playoff bound for Ben Roethlisberger’s final season. Can they make some noise? It feels unlikely, but what a ride it’s been. Pittsburgh likely makes a big move at quarterback this offseason, but how do they do it? In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, it’s right here.
Matt Corral has an improved 2021 season, cutting out turnovers while also bringing more consistency to big time throws. He operated a lot in the RPO/quick game and produced as a rusher, but he has challenged defenses deep as well.
