A majority of the 2022 NFL Draft order is set! Plenty goes down in this two-round 2022 NFL Mock Draft, including a surprise at the top.

We are finally here! After 272 games, the last of which came excruciatingly close to a tie that many wanted to see, the NFL regular season is officially over. It was a wild year all around, and no one is completely sure who the best team in the league is. The AFC is wide open, and (arguably) one of the best teams missed the playoffs, while Tennessee hung on to the one and the Steelers and Raiders made the playoffs. The NFC has a bunch of strong teams that could make it.

With the playoffs set, over half the league, 18 picks, are locked in for the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Draft prep is beginning with those teams, as some prepare with a plentiful cupboard, while a few others are bare. Either way, draft season is well underway.

2022 NFL Mock Draft: Two-Rounder

What better way to kick off that part of the year with a fresh 2022 NFL Mock Draft here at NFL Mocks, and it feels great to have a majority of things locked in. This one spans two rounds, and features only a handful of quarterbacks. We see defense and offensive line be the primary focus early, with corner and wide receiver as mainstays throughout. The Jaguars also surprise. Let’s dive in!

This mock draft was completed using the NFL Mock Draft Database simulator.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama

It’s often been one of the top edge rushers for the Jaguars, but things switch up here in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. Instead of continuing their pursuit of high draft capital to the front seven, it’s time to protect the franchise quarterback you have in house. The best way to do that is getting great protection up front.

Is there some potential promise to Walker Little? Whether you believe so or not, Evan Neal is a clear upgrade. Neal has the athleticism, footwork, and power to handle things in pass protection, and has the quickness and drive to operate in the run game.

2. Detroit Lions: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan

The Detroit Lions have built some serious momentum under head coach Dan Campbell. It’s time to continue that into the offseason, and here that starts with getting an impact player on the edge. Aidan Hutchinson has been extremely productive in 2021, and has worked from potential first rounder to top five pick. His athleticism, get off, and pass rush plan will help bring more of an identity to the defense.
