2022 NFL Draft: 5 coaches who could be fired before the 2022 NFL Draft
By Kyle Edmond
Matt Nagy, Chicago Bears
After a 12-4 season in his first year with Chicago, along with a playoff berth, it’s fairly clear that Matt Nagy only walked into a good situation with the Bears. Since the 12-4 record in 2018, there has been steady regression in Chicago and that could all come to a head this year.
The Bears posted 8-8 records each of the last two seasons and while a large amount of people wanted to see Nagy gone last year, he still had yet to post a losing record in Chicago and somehow managed to made the playoffs in 2020. Now, that is all out the window this year as they enter the final week of the season at 6-10 and have struggled to find any sort of consistency.
Possibly the biggest concern for the organization was the quarterback position. Nagy has struggled to commit to a quarterback this season, although injuries have played a role. If the Bears want to see Justin Fields grow into their quarterback of the future, Nagy won’t be their guy.
Those issues coupled with the team’s overall struggles on the field and it’s clear that the Chicago Bears will have a new guy helping make the picks at the 2022 NFL Draft.
