2022 NFL Draft: 5 teams that need to find a quarterback this offseason

Houston Texans
The mix-and-match of Tyrod Taylor and Davis Mills hasn’t gone according to plan for the Houston Texans. However, it’s hard to tell what that plan could have originally been. The Deshaun Watson saga continues with no end in sight, so the Texans are once again left in quarterback limbo entering the offseason.
Houston does have a first round pick this year, finally, but that doesn’t mean there’s a quarterback for them to take. With Jacksonville and Detroit likely to be the only teams ahead of Houston, the Texans have a decent chance to take the first QB off the board in the 2022 NFL Draft if they would so choose. But is Kenny Pickett the route a team with few pieces wants to go?
Obviously, Houston has a need at the quarterback position, but they have needs at nearly every other position as well. The Texans could opt to build the rest of their roster this offseason and delay the most important position on the field.
Mills will still be on his rookie deal and either Taylor or another free agent could be brought in to hold down the fort for a season. There’s also the option that possibly Watson could be flipped for a different quarterback who’s in need of a change of scenery.
No matter what way you spin it, the unfortunate reality is that of all the teams on this list, the Texans have the worst situation at quarterback. The good news is that they have the best draft position to fix the problem, but that might not mean much this season.
