NC State Wolfpack running back Zonovan Knight has officially declared for the 2022 NFL Draft.

It feels like a broken record at this point, but the running back class for the 2022 NFL Draft is going to be a fascinating study. There are plenty of players that are worth day two selections, and no one has really separated themself from the pack as the top guy. Breece Hall, Kenneth Walker III, Isaiah Spiller, Kyren Williams, and more (Rachaad White, Tyler Allgeier) are pushing for day two draft capital. Another could join the fold here in NC State RB Zonovan Knight, who recently declared for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Knight has been an impact player for the Wolfpack from the moment he stepped on campus. He’s played in 36 career games, and has been the model of consistency. Knight has hit the 700-yard mark in every season, and has averaged 5.5 yards per carry in his Wolfpack career. He scored 10 touchdowns in 2020, and also has been a factor as a receiver in his last two seasons.

The biggest thing to note with Knight over others mentioned above is his experience as a kick returner. He had 30 returns in college, and averaged over 30 yards per return, scoring three touchdowns.

The straight line speed is evident on tape with Knight, who can break off big runs once he’s in open space. Knight is also very quick to process what’s going on in front of him, and he’s got good lateral movement skills to create in space. His contact balance is impressive as well, as he bounces off arm tackles, and combine that with a strong pass-catcher, and you’ve got a complete back.

His athletic testing should be very good, especially from the speed and agility perspective, and there’s a good chance Zonovan Knight will be a great value pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
