Carolina Panthers 2022 Mock Draft: Multiple Trades To Acquire Picks
Round 2, 51st Overall: Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan
The one area that must be fixed for the Carolina Panthers is tackle. No matter what they believe about Taylor Moton rebounding in 2022 or regarding where last year’s third round pick, Brady Christensen, is best suited to play, tackle is extremely important. If that’s where they go in the first round, no one would bat an eye.
In this scenario, though, the trades put them out of range of one of the top three tackles in the 2022 NFL Draft. There will still be gems to be had on day two, as is the theme brewing for this class as a whole. A bunch of small-school guys will be intriguing at this point, and in this Carolina Panthers mock draft, they land one in Central Michigan’s Bernhard Raimann.
Raimann will be down in Mobile in February for the Senior Bowl with a great chance to boost his draft stock. The converted tight end has the athleticism and footwork to thrive at tackle in the NFL, and the balance to boot.. He’s got impressive power in his upper half to be a factor in the run game and the skills to mirror rushers in pass protection. He needs to work on power in his lower half and knee bend, but the traits are there to be an NFL starter.
