Round 4, 109th Overall: Cole Turner, TE, Nevada

With day three selections you’re not going to find perfect prospects, however they are still valuable picks because you can still find players who can contribute.

Cole Turner is a good example of someone who may not have all-pro type of potential, but can still contribute. I think he can be utilized as a jump ball, contested catch type of receiver. He has good size at 6-foot-5, 240 pounds and it was something he excelled at for Nevada. He may not have the type of speed to be a high-level pass catcher, but if he can be utilized correctly I think he can have a role for the New York Jets.

Round 4, 113th Overall: Alontae Taylor, CB, Tennessee

Alontae Taylor has a solid skillset for a corner as he has solid size at 6-foot-0, 195 pounds to go along with good speed. He also has four years of experience starting in the SEC, with last season being his most consistent.

Round 5, 145th Overall: Verone McKinley III, S, Oregon

Verone McKinley III had a pretty impressive season this year as he was a Thorpe Award finalist as he picked off six passes. He would be a good value pick for the New York Jets here in the 5th round. He isn’t a higher round pick due to his inconsistency as a tackler, but there’s still a lot to like about his game. He’s got good instincts in coverage, solid closing speed, and is capable of some big hits.

Round 5, 158th Overall: Calvin Austin III, WR, Memphis

It’s not too hard to find something to like about Calvin Austin III’s game and that is his impressive speed. He is undersized at 5-foot-9,162 pounds, but someone who moves as well as he does is always worth a day three pick.
