2022 NFL Mock Draft: Aidan Hutchinson to Jags In Two-Round Projection
7. Carolina Panthers: Matt Corral, QB, Mississippi
The impression of the Matt Rhule era in Carolina has changed its tune from September, as the Panthers have struggled to find a quarterback that can be effective and keep the team in games. The offensive line is suspect as well, and has made life difficult for whoever is under center.
It isn’t easy to figure out which of the two directions that Rhule and company will go in the 2022 NFL Draft, but in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, quarterback is the answer to that question. Matt Corral operates the quick game very well with RPOs and can be a part of the running game. He was efficient in 2021 and stayed risk-averse.
8. New York Jets (via SEA): Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
Robert Saleh hasn’t convinced everyone on the Jets that he’s the guy to run the show, but sticking with the Dolphins was a major step for this group, who hopes to finish strong with a win somewhere. Saleh’s defense has been good up front, but they need a true playmaker on the back end.
Kyle Hamilton is an excellent player who’s at the top of some 2022 NFL Draft boards. His range, recognition skills, and tackling ability in space make him a lethal player as the last line of defense. Hamilton is versatile enough to line up anywhere and can erase tight ends.
