2022 NFL Mock Draft: Aidan Hutchinson to Jags In Two-Round Projection
3. Houston Texans: Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
The Houston Texans are a team that is still in search of the guy at quarterback, especially if DeShaun Watson is to be moved this offseason. The good news is that Davis Mills has played well in his last two starts, even though they were against Seattle and Jacksonville. It could be worth playing him in 2022 to see if he’s truly the guy.
The Texans go with a best player available approach in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. Derek Stingley Jr. has been considered an elite prospect since he was a freshman and has the instincts and ball skills to become a top tier corner in the NFL.
4. New York Jets: Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State
There has been plenty of discourse surrounding quarterback Zach Wilson this season, but patience will win out no matter how things finish. It’s going to be important to surround Wilson with help to give him the best environment to succeed, and that starts with the right side of the offensive line.
It’s a different tackle off the board first in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. Charles Cross has the athletic upside, impressive recovery quickness, and has improved his anchor mightily this season. Cross would form an excellent duo with Mekhi Becton to give Wilson plenty of protection when he drops back.
