2022 NFL Mock Draft: Aidan Hutchinson to Jags In Two-Round Projection
27. Arizona Cardinals: Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
The Arizona Cardinals are stumbling right now, and while they still have the division lead, the Rams are hot on their tail and the finishing schedule isn’t very easy. They need to right the ship quickly. The secondary struggled against the Lions, and that’s where they go in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.
Ahmad Gardner would be a great addition to the secondary. He’s physical at the line of scrimmage, operates extremely well in zone coverage, and works well coming downhill to be a part of the run defense. Gardner needs to work on getting too grabby in coverage, but the physical tools are there to develop.
28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
The Buccaneers looked like they were getting hot at the right time, only to get shut out at home against New Orleans. In the process, they lost a lot of players to injury. The 2022 offseason will require decisions to be made, and one of those surrounds Chris Godwin. If he walks, they could look to add a receiver in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Chris Olave would be a strong replacement. He’s a great route runner who doubles as a good deep threat. He’s got reliable hands and good body control to adjust to passes on the fly. He checks all the boxes to be a very strong WR2 at the next level.
