2022 NFL Mock Draft: Aidan Hutchinson Goes First, Four QBs In Round 1
By Evan Bachman
9. Atlanta Falcons: George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue
The Falcons have plenty of needs on the roster, however they are currently last in the NFL in sacks with just 16, so adding pass rushers this offseason has to be a priority for them.
George Karlaftis is very projectable as a power rusher as he’s got good size with long arms and can win his pass rushes with strength and power. Karlaftis raised eyebrows his freshman season and he registered eight sacks and this season he has gotten to the quarterback with consistency, registering 54 pressures in 12 games.
10. Philadelphia Eagles (via MIA): Kingsley Enagbare, EDGE, South Carolina
With potentially three first round picks I’ve seen some mock drafts having the Eagles taking a quarterback. This isn’t something I would rule out, however with how well Jalen Hurts has played this season I don’t think that’s something that’s likely. I think they’d be better off building the roster around Hurts and they do just that in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.
The Eagles could already use more pass rushers and with Derek Barnett being a free agent, finding pass rushers should be a big priority for them this offseason. Luckily for them this draft class is pretty loaded with edge rushers as Enagbare is the fourth edge rusher to come off the board in the top 10.
Enagbare is so good as a pass rusher because he’s capable of winning in a variety of ways. He can use his strength to just throw offensive linemen out of the way, can use his quickness to bend the edge, and can use quickness with a quick hand slap.
Kingsley Enagbare has been dominant rushing the passer over his time at South Carolina and certainly deserves to be a sure fire first round pick and a top ten pick, which he is in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. This season Enagbare has pressured the quarterback consistently as he’s recorded 45 pressures in 12 games and has an impressive pass rush grade of 92.5.
