Las Vegas Raiders 2022 Mock Draft: New CB1 And WR Upgrades
Round 4, 113th overall: Spencer Burford, OT, UTSA
How the Las Vegas Raiders view the offensive line for 2022 will be interesting. Rookie Alex Leatherwood has been rough to watch at times when lined up at right tackle, and the move inside will surely help his future development. This puts the Raiders in a bind to find a suitable right tackle for the future.
It’s possible that this is addressed earlier, but in a shallower class, the Raiders can follow a similar ideology. Drafting tackles with tools has paid off for several teams, including the Vikings with Brian O’Neill and the Raiders with Kolton Miller. Here, they select UTSA’s Spencer Burford, who has great explosion and initial quicks, but also packs a punch with serious people-moving skills in the run game.
Round 5, 151st Overall: Micah McFadden, LB, Indiana
The linebacker position was one that many expected to be solid throughout the 2021 season. Alas, it hasn’t worked out, as Cory Littleton hasn’t played up to how he did with the Rams, and Denzel Perryman is getting a heavy load of snaps.
Micah McFadden would be an interesting selection late here for the Raiders. McFadden has good eyes to processing and identify what’s going on in front of him, and possesses sufficient quickness and range to cover ground. He can create pressure as a blitzer and could be a starter from day one while also being a factor on special teams.
