Las Vegas Raiders 2022 Mock Draft: New CB1 And WR Upgrades
Round 2, 45th Overall: Devonte Wyatt, DL, Georgia
The Las Vegas Raiders have two studs on the edge, but the interior of the defensive is a unit that will look shallow, with everyone set to hit free agency, including Johnathan Hankins and Quinton Jefferson. It wouldn’t be shocking to see the Raiders potentially in on drafting Jordan Davis, but here they select his teammate in the second round.
Devonte Wyatt might not be the space eater that Davis is, but he provides a different skill set, one that could help Ngakoue and Crosby thrive even more. Wyatt is quick off the ball, has a good set of rush moves to push the pocket, and can operate in a two-gap look with his explosion and quickness.
Round 3, 76th Overall: Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati
The receiver room for the Raiders is extremely thin, and the 2022 NFL Draft might be another deep class at the position. Finding a big play threat should be easy, and the Raiders do here by going back to the Cincinnati well in selecting Alec Pierce.
Pierce has the size and physical demeanor to be a consistent winner at the catch point, but he also does a good job using that size, along with his hands, to stack and gain position on vertical routes. His catch radius is large, and his play speed is sufficient. He can be a deep threat while also drawing coverage in the red zone.
