Round 7, 219th Overall: Calijah Kancey, DL, Pittsburgh

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a strong unit of defensive linemen right now. Taven Bryan taking a bigger step would be important, and Jay Tufele seeing more snaps in 2022 should be in the long term plans. Davon Hamilton is impressive as a nose tackle, but getting some more pass rushers isn’t the worst thing this late.

Calijah Kancey is an undersized player at just 280 pounds, but the juice he has as a pass rusher is something must-needed. His quickness, athleticism, and change of direction skills could be used on third down and sub-packages to get after quarterbacks. If he bulks up, more snaps in the rotation could be possible.

Round 7, 244th Overall: D’Jordan Strong, CB, Coastal Carolina

The final pick in this Jaguars mock draft goes back to the corner position once again. Tyson Campbell struggles with awareness at the catch point, something that will hopefully get better as time goes on. While he works on it, getting another potential outside corner is paramount.

D’Jordan Strong is a sleeper in a deep cornerback class that many are taking notice of lately. He’s got some great technique in press coverage, and has great ball production at the catch point. Good players are always around the ball, and Strong is that for the Coastal Carolina defense. He can develop into that for the Jaguars.
