Jacksonville Jaguars 2022 Mock Draft: Major Help For Trevor Lawrence
Round 4, 105th Overall: Channing Tindall, LB, Georgia
The Jacksonville Jaguars have a stud in Myles Jack under contract for several seasons, but traded Joe Schobert to the Steelers likely due to the coaching change. This leaves a bit of a hole at the linebacker position for the future. Leaving the 2022 NFL Draft without a Georgia defender would be a rough process, and Channing Tindall is a good value pick here.
Tindall is a good run and chase linebacker for the Bulldogs, and operates extremely well in space. He has impressive athleticism and closing speed to work both sidelines as well as downhill, and his instincts complement his athletic profile. He’s a bit of a work in progress against the run, but he can make an impact when freed up in Jacksonville’s defense.
Round 5, 151st Overall: Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, CB, TCU
Shaquill Griffin and Tyson Campbell look like the future for both outside corner spots, but with the movement to nickel as a base defense, the Jaguars should look to find a good slot defender. Luckily, they’ve got one here in Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson.
Hodges-Tomlinson is a bit undersized, but he’s quick with fluid hips to handle the dynamic slot receivers. He’s tough and offers plenty in run support as well, and has good ball production at the catch point to break up passes.
