New Orleans Saints 2022 Mock Draft: WR Room Gets Big Upgrade
The New Orleans Saints get a major upgrade at the wide receiver position and more in this 2022 mock draft.
We are a long way from the New Orleans Saints upsetting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Superdome. That win made the Saints look like true playoff contenders, but they lost quarterback Jameis Winston in that game, and they’ve struggled ever since. The Saints have lost five straight games, including three losses at home in that span. The schedule hasn’t been easy, and there’s a chance for a turnaround in an NFC that might have an 8-9 playoff participant.
However, the Saints are a team that might end up looking to the 2022 NFL Draft before the season ends. They have several decisions to make this offseason, and the cap will yet again be troubled waters that need great navigation skills.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens to long time left tackle Terron Armstead this offseason, and a majority of the Saints receiver room are set to be free agents. Safety Marcus Williams is another who could be wearing a different uniform next season.

Then there’s the quarterback conundrum. It’s hard to imagine Taysom Hill actually becomes the starter for a few more years, but the Saints have continued to surprise us on that front. Winston might be given another chance, but they might look elsewhere. There will be a ton of veterans that could potentially hit the market this season, and a trade for someone like Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, or signing Tyrod Taylor could be in the cards. We will wait and see.
If they go that route, then the 2022 NFL Draft will be an important one for the New Orleans Saints to reload the roster. They do so in this mock draft.
