6. New York Giants: Evan Neal, Offensive Tackle, Alabama

Outside of all the injuries to New York’s skill position players that have taken place during the season it is unexplainable how the Giants’ offense has had this little production this season. They have an athletic quarterback, All-Pro caliber running back, four talented wide receivers, and two starting-caliber tight ends. It was clear that the Giants are looking for a spark on offense when they fired offensive coordinator Jason Garrett. Former Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens is now tasked with getting production out of an offense which on paper is very explosive.

If the New York Giants don’t go all-in on a quarterback like Russell Wilson this offseason they could add the finishing touches to an offense loaded with talent. It is no secret their offensive line needs to improve. New York’s first-round pick from 2020 Andrew Thomas has looked promising in his second year but they need more out of Will Hernandez, Nick Gates, Shane Lemieux, and Matt Peart. It is getting to the point that the Giants could look to replace one of those players. That could especially be the case if a player like Evan Neal is available when the Giants are on the clock like in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.

Alabama tackle Evan Neal has started all over the Crimson Tide’s offensive line over the last three seasons. He has been dominant whether he is playing left guard, right tackle, or left tackle. He is the next great offensive tackle prospect. New York could start Neal at right tackle giving them bookend tackles to hold down the exterior of their offensive line. Neal would be able to keep pressure out of Daniel Jones’ face and open up huge running lanes on the right side for Saquon Barkley to run through.

Unless there is a scenario where either of the top two edge rusher prospects is available New York should be doing everything in their power to add Evan Neal to their offensive line.
