31. Baltimore Ravens: Roger McCreary, Cornerback, Auburn

It has been amazing that the Baltimore Ravens have put together the season they have and change their offensive philosophy with all the major injuries they suffered before the season. They lost their top three running backs to begin the year and former Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters. Also, All-Pro left tackle Ronnie Stanley was lost for the year and quarterback Lamar Jackson has been banged up this season and missed time. If Baltimore makes the playoffs this year John Harbaugh should be considered a favorite to win Coach of the Year.

This upcoming offseason the Ravens are going to have to pay Lamar Jackson. Once they pay Jackson Baltimore will need to get cheaper at other positions. One player they could trade this offseason is the injured Marcus Peters. If they trade Peters they will free $10 million in cap space. Then the Ravens would need to find another cornerback to lineup opposite Marlon Humphrey and that could be an upgrade over Anthony Averett in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.

Auburn cornerback Roger McCreary has emerged as one of the top players at his position in the country this year. According to Mike Renner of Pro Football Focus McCreary is PFF’s highest-graded cornerback this season. He caught attention a lot of national attention for his performance during the Iron Bowl versus Alabama.

Baltimore could add McCreary to one of the league’s best secondaries over the last couple of seasons that needs the slight boost after losing Marcus Peters for the year. This season Baltimore’s pass defense has not been so great. But that could change once McCreary is added to this team.
