LB. 4. player. 44. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Arkansas. Grant Morgan

Round 4,113th Overall: Grant Morgan, LB, Arkansas

The Atlanta Falcons don’t have much depth at linebacker behind Deion Jones, so linebacker is another area they could look to address in the offseason. On day three obviously you’re not going to find flawless prospects, however Grant Morgan is someone with potential to have his game translate to the NFL level.

Morgan is a bit undersized at 5-foot-11, 235 pounds, however he was a first team All-SEC selection last year. While his run defense could use some improving, he has shown good pass rush and cover ability.

RB. player. 5. 44. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Oregon. C.J. Verdell

Round 5,155th Overall: C.J. Verdell, RB, Oregon

Unfortunately, C.J. Verdell’s 2021 season came to end with a lower leg injury against Stanford in week five, however Verdell has certainly shown enough over his career at Oregon to be a day three draft pick.

He has a good skillset as a runner as he’s capable both in open space and in short yardage situations and he’s capable of making tacklers miss with elusiveness and with power. I also think he has good vision as a runner, he’s good at finding the right spot to run and following what his offensive line provides for him.

S. Middle Tennessee State. Reed Blankenship. 6. 44. Pick Analysis. player. Scouting Report

Round 6,191st Overall: Reed Blankenship, S, MTSU

With Duron Harmon and Erik Harris both being free agents at the end of season, the Atlanta Falcons may need to add a depth fill at safety.  Reed Blankenship is someone who’s played for a smaller conference, however has shown enough that he should get a chance to compete to make an NFL roster.

At Middle Tennessee State, he was named first team all conference in 2018 and second team all conference in 2019.  This year, he is having another good year as he is leading the team in tackles with 90 and is second in passes defended with eight.
