2022 NFL Mock Draft: Giants, Broncos, Football Team All Select QBs
29. Buffalo Bills: Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
The Bills need help on the interior offensive line, as they have a rough guard duo right now, but in a talented corner class, getting one of the top prospects in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft is too good to pass up.
Ahmad Gardner does his best work in zone coverage where he can quickly read and react. He hasn’t allowed a touchdown in his career, and willingly fills in the run game. If the coaching staff can unlock some more fluidity in his transitions, look out.
30. Arizona Cardinals: Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn
The Cardinals had a major speed bump in their loss to Carolina, but they’ll get back on track when they get healthy. This is still a unit that could use a true top corner on the perimeter, and the 2022 NFL Draft is the perfect place to do it.
Roger McCreary should be getting first round buzz, as he has the SEC pedigree. He’s an instinctive corner with great timing at the catch point and is rarely out of position.
31. Tennessee Titans: Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia
The Tennessee Titans are getting into a groove, but this is a unit that could improve at the second level of their defense, as most of their linebacker room is set to hit free agency in 2022.
Why not pair up some former Georgia Bulldogs? Monty Rice is a good developmental player, and Nakobe Dean could thrive next to him. Dean is a phenomenal blitzer who works well around contact, and has the coverage chops and reliability as a tackler in space.
32. Green Bay Packers: Travon Walker, DE, Georgia
The Packers round out this 2022 NFL Mock Draft by yet again addressing the defense, even though the unit has just done something no other unit has done: shut out Russell Wilson. With both Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith uncertain to return, getting a top rusher opposite Rashan Gary is what the Packers will likely look to do.
Travon Walker is an impressive player for Georgia who can win in a variety of alignments. He’s got the explosion, power, and hand usage to play on the edge and can drop into coverage when necessary.
