Offensive Line

Tackle: Rashawn Slater, Chargers

Rashawn Slater has topped the NFL Rookie Rankings plenty of times this season, and he was an easy choice here. Slater has looked like a vet who has handled top rushers for several years now. His hand usage is excellent, his anchor has been strong, and he’s shown the ability to recover well. The Chargers nailed it with Slater.

Tackle: Samuel Cosmi, Football Team

The second spot was tough, as Penei Sewell could make an argument, but Samuel Cosmi has been extremely strong in the running game this year when he’s been healthy. He’s great at getting off the ball quickly, and has flashed the ability to reach block and turn defenders away from the play. Cosmi has continued to improve in pass protection as well.

Guard: Alijah Vera-Tucker, Jets

Alijah Vera-Tucker has been the bright spot for the Jets offensive line, and it’s looking like the right call for the Jets to have moved up nine spots to select him. He’s been a force in the run game and stout in pass protection.

Guard: Trey Smith, Chiefs

The Trey Smith pick looks more and more like a steal every day. Credit the Chiefs for believing in the traits and working on his balance and lunging issues. Smith looks much-improved on the interior this season, playing with better balance and still finishing with authority.

Center: Creed Humphrey, Chiefs

Another steal for the Chiefs, and another NFL Rookie Rankings regular. Creed Humphrey has been a dynamite plug and play center, and it’s a wonder how he lasted as long as he did. The Chiefs haven’t been able to work deep down the field lately, but Humphrey has helped keep the pocket from collapsing when they have.
