Two top-15 SEC West teams that feature several 2022 NFL Draft prospects try to improve their conference standing in the only matchup of ranked teams on Saturday.

This intriguing matchup pits teams against each other with dueling 6-2 records on the year. Auburn is 3-1 in SEC play and Texas A&M sports a 3-2 mark in conference play.

Auburn is mathematically still alive for the SEC West championship, but they’d have to win this game in College Station, beat #17 ranked Mississippi State on November 13th, and then win the Iron Bowl at home against Alabama on November 27th. The Tigers winning out is not impossible, but highly improbable.

Texas A&M has had a weirdly up and down season. They dropped games against Mississippi State and Arkansas, only beat Colorado by three, but also beat Alabama, handing the Crimson Tide their only loss of the year.

The talent is there for A&M, as they have four players (DL DeMarvin Leal, OL Kenyon Green, TE Jalen Wydermyer, and RB Isaiah Spiller) that are likely to go in the first two rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft. Despite being 6-5 in the all-time series against Auburn, and being 4.5-point favorites on Saturday, Texas A&M hasn’t beaten Auburn at home in four tries.

This Saturday, the Aggies will try to dash Auburn’s SEC West title hopes and secure their first home win over the Tigers. Texas A&M might have the better roster, but Auburn has higher stakes as they still have a glimmer of hope when it comes to winning their side of the SEC. Let’s begin by taking a look at some 2022 NFL Draft prospects to watch as these two SEC teams take the field in the best matchup of the weekend.
