2022 NFL mock draft: Malik Willis lands with Texans, Corners Fly Off

22. Los Angeles Chargers: Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia
With a loaded offense the Chargers have a chance to compete for Super Bowls in the near future, however they need to improve their front seven in order for their defense to come close to as effective Brandon Staley’s defense was with the Rams.
Nakobe Dean is someone I’m very high on as he’s one of the leaders of a Georgia defense that is by far the best in college football. He checks all of the boxes of what you need to be able to do as a linebacker as he can cover well, stop the run, tackle well, and rush the passer.
23. New Orleans Saints: Drake London, WR, USC
Jameis Winston has shown so far this season that he can be the quarterback moving forward for the Saints. Now, it’s just about surrounding him with talent and adding Drake London to this offense is an excellent fit in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.
Drake London is someone who’s flown up draft boards this season with his remarkable play this season as he’s caught 79 passes for 1003 yards and five touchdowns through just seven games.
London has a lot of areas to his game to really like. First off, standing at 6-foot-5 he’s excellent in contested catch situations as according to PFF he’s hauled in 19 contested catches so far this season, which is an incredible number considering it’s through only seven games.
Another thing there is to like about him is his quickness and ability to force missed tackles with the ball in his hands. Usually you don’t expect tall, with a bit of skinny build receivers like London to be quick and elusive, but he is and has proven that by forcing 16 missed tackles this season so far at USC.
24. Dallas Cowboys: Jordan Davis, DL, Georgia
The Cowboys have impressed this season with a 5-1 start, however they do need to get better on defense and probably their biggest need on defense is on the interior defensive line.
Jordan Davis has been so good for Georgia this season that he’s drawing Heisman hype. He’s someone whose value goes beyond just what you see in the box score.
He is very powerful and can drive offensive linemen backwards and get them off balance. As a run defender, he is very good a recognizing where the run is going and driving linemen out of the way (or in the way of the run to stop it) to either free himself up to make a tackle or someone else.
