Pick Analysis. DeMarvin Leal. player. 31. Scouting Report. Edge/DL. Texas A&M. 7

7. New York Giants: DeMarvin Leal, DL, Texas A&M

The Giants are a team who could look at targeting a quarterback, however Daniel Jones has been solid and the quarterback class is relatively weak, so I’m projecting they look to fill other needs. In this scenario they fill a need for another pass rusher.

DeMarvin Leal is a former five-star recruit who checks all of the boxes of a top ten prospect. He has all the traits to develop into a very good defensive lineman in the NFL with a good blend of size, power, and movement skills and he has performed well at Texas A&M as both a pass rusher and run stopper.

Leal is a unique prospect as he primarily lines up on edge, however with his size (6-foot-4, 290 pounds) and power he could definitely be effective lining up on the interior as well and provide some versatility for the Giants.

Garrett Wilson. player. 30. Ohio State. Pick Analysis. WR. 8. Scouting Report

8. New York Jets (via SEA): Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

With the injury to Russell Wilson, the Seahawks have had some struggles, making this pick from the Jamal Adams more valuable. At the present moment, it leaves the Jets with two picks in the top ten in this 2022 NFL mock draft.

In order for Zach Wilson to find success the Jets need to surround him with as much talent as possible. They did add Corey Davis in free agency and drafted Elijah Moore last offseason, however the receiving core still needs more talent.

Garrett Wilson projects as a very complete, dependable receiver at the next level. He is an excellent, very smooth route runner, who can separate at all levels of the field. He also has had success lining up as a slot receiver and out wide, so he provides versatility for the Jets.

Wilson has been very good for the Buckeyes this season as so far he has just over 600 yards and six touchdowns through seven games.

player. 58. Scouting Report. QB. Ole Miss. Matt Corral. 9. Pick Analysis

9. Washington Football Team: Matt Corral, QB, Mississippi

The Washington Football Team are certainly going to be in the market for a quarterback this offseason. While Taylor Heineke raised some eyebrows with his performance against the Buccaneers in the wild card game, it’s pretty clear that he is not a long-term solution for them at quarterback.

Matt Corral’s stellar play, along with Spencer Rattler getting benched and Sam Howell underperforming so far, has caused his draft stock to shoot up.

As a passer, Corral is capable of making a lot of throws, including downfield throws, and he has really improved his ball security as last season he threw 13 picks, while this season he’s thrown just one so far. Corral can also add an extra dimension to an offense as a runner as he is elusive and tough to tackle. Through seven games, he’s rushed for 474 yards and nine touchdowns.
