26. Buffalo Bills: Garrett Wilson, Wide Receiver, Ohio State

After defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills have emerged as the team to beat in the AFC. They are extremely well-rounded and have addressed their largest weaknesses on their roster. Buffalo added Emmanuel Sanders to their All-Pro receiving core. They also developed Zack Moss to be the starting running back he failed to be last season. Also, they added to what could be the deepest defensive line in the league in the first and second rounds of this past draft.

Buffalo doesn’t have a lot of holes on this roster. However, they may have to replace one of their larger free-agent additions in Emmanuel Sanders this offseason. Sanders is going to be 35 next season so not only could he leave in free agency, he could even consider retirement. After the first few weeks, the Bills have to realize that their offense needs a legitimate deep threat to play opposite Stefon Diggs. Gabriel Davis could be a candidate to replace Sanders. However, the Bills like to use Davis more in the red zone than as a deep threat.

This scenario in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft would be outstanding for the Bills. Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson is being overshadowed by his teammate Chris Olave. But he is a first-round talent and would receive more attention if he wasn’t the clear number two receiver for Ohio State. He is a dynamic deep threat that could have Pro Bowl potential as the number two receiver in this offense. This is the type of pick where people could look back in a couple of years and wonder how the rest of the league let the Bills add this type of weapon to their offense.
