2022 NFL mock draft: Jaguars take OL at 1, Falcons, Texans get QBs
Ahmad Gardner is a player you simply don’t mess around with.
Gardner, whose nickname is “Sauce”, brings it every single week.
In addition to being flat-out dominant in coverage, Gardner has proven he can make plenty of plays on the ball. He’s got eight interceptions and 14 pass breakups in his first 24 college games.
The Chargers have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL right now in Justin Herbert. With Brandon Staley as their head coach, they will have one of the best schemed and coordinated defenses.
Asante Samuel Jr. has already been one of the best rookies in the NFL in the early goings of the 2021 season and there are brighter days ahead.
How much longer will Chris Harris Jr. be around, though? Michael Davis?
There will be opportunities to upgrade at the cornerback position going forward and Gardner is a guy who is way better than this particular draft slot.
We’ll see what happens over the next few months with Gardner’s draft stock. Maybe the 30th spot will be laughable even in just a few weeks.
For now, he might be a dream pickup for the Chargers.
