With the 10th overall pick the New York Giants brought in a new quarterback in Sam Howell.
Here at pick 16, which they acquired from the Bears in a very rare Dave Gettleman trade on draft night, they get him a battery mate.
Tyler Linderbaum has been one of the top linemen in the country over the past three seasons, but this year at Iowa he really looks like a professional among his peers.
Linderbaum is athletic, strong, smart, and he has a killer mentality when he gets his hands on defenders.
He plays with such sound technique and discipline. As much as you hate to consider any incoming NFL prospect a “sure” thing, Linderbaum is about as close as it gets.
The Giants have struggled to find stability on the offensive line for far too long now. They made a trade before the season to acquire former first-round pick Billy Price of the Cincinnati Bengals.
They just took an intriguing risk on former Titans first-round pick Isaiah Wilson.
As they piece the offensive line together, Linderbaum is the type of player that can be the “centerpiece” (pun fully intended).
