2022 NFL Draft: 5 Players to watch in Iowa vs Penn State game
By Evan Bruner
2022 NFL Draft players to watch: Safety Jaquan Brisker
After taking the JUCO route to start his collegiate career, safety Jaquan Brisker has blossomed into one of the Nitanny Lions’ biggest playmakers on the defensive side of the ball.
One of the biggest strengths in Brisker’s game is his versatility. He’s listed as a safety, but he can play the game like a linebacker at times with his willingness to make plays at the line of scrimmage while also dropping back in coverage. Brisker has been of the best players in the Big Ten in coverage this season, only allowing five completions with two pass breakups and an interception when being targeted. In addition to Brisker’s coverage skills, he is also considered one of the best tackling safeties in all of college football.
It will be interesting to see how Penn State tries to get Brisker involved against Iowa. His run support will be needed against one of the most run-heavy teams in the Big Ten. Iowa’s risk-averse passing attack may limit some of Brisker’s chances to make plays in coverage, but the leader of Penn State’s defense will have his fingerprints on the game.
Current projection: Early 2nd round.
