2022 NFL Draft: 5 Players to watch in Iowa vs Penn State game

2022 NFL Draft prospects to watch: Wide Reciever Jahan Dotson
Ever since KJ Hamler was drafted in 2020, Jahan Dotson has taken the reigns as the Nittany Lions’ go-to playmaker. Dotson put up 884 receiving yards in nine games in 2020, and already 446 and six touchdowns through five games. Analysts have started to take notice of Dotson’s production, with Mel Kiper Jr. listing him over Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave as the top receiver prospect in the 2022 draft.
Dotson has always been a home run threat at Penn State. He averaged 18.1 and 17.0 yards per catch in his sophomore and junior seasons. A lot of this is due to his great ball tracking skills and body control. Dotson is also a big-play threat due to his ability to create separation going in and out of breaks.
Dotson’s skillset poses a fascinating matchup for this week’s game. Dotson’s explosive play ability against a defense that is specifically designed to prevent explosive plays. This is a classic unstoppable force versus immovable object matchup that will likely play a big role in the outcome of the game.
There aren’t many holes in Dotson’s game, but there may be some concerns with his size. Listed at 5’11, 184 pounds, Dotson lacks the ideal size for a first-round receiver. I’m not fully sold on Dotson being the first receiver drafted in the 2022 draft, but I still think he will be an early selection.
Current Projection: Mid First round
