Round 6, 184th Overall: Coby Bryant, CB, Cincinnati

As mentioned before, the secondary for the New York Giants still has some questions. They did well against Atlanta for the most part but struggled down the stretch against Washington. There’s no harm in adding more talent to the depth pool at the position, especially with how dynamic of a passing league the NFL has become.

Coby Bryant excels in the Bearcats defense, thriving mostly in off coverage where he can diagnose and close quickly. His change of direction skills are very good and he has the tracking skills and catch point skills of a wide receiver. The toolbox alone is worth a pick this late.

Round 7, 225th Overall: C.J. Verdell, RB, Oregon

Finishing up this Giants mock draft is a position that may need addressing. The running backs currently behind Saquon Barkley (Devontae Booker and Gary Brightwell) aren’t players who are high impact at the position. As the NFL moves toward a more committee-focused approach, finding a dynamic second back is important.

With a great combination of toughness and burst, Oregon’s C.J. Verdell can provide as an RB2 without sacrificing too much. Verdell’s burst and stamina are very good, and he’s shown plenty as a pass catcher for the Ducks this season. He’d do very well behind Barkley for the New York Giants.
