Round 4, 111th Overall: Tykee Smith, S, Georgia

The secondary for the New York Giants has been up-and-down to this point in the season. They’ve thrown a lot of money into free agency the past couple offseasons, landing both James Bradberry and Adoree Jackson. Darnay Holmes has flashed in the slot, and the hope is Julian Love and Xavier McKinney can be stalwarts at safety.

The issue is consistency, and with Jabrill Peppers likely on his way out after the season, finding a versatile defender would be huge. Tykee Smith transferred to Georgia from West Virginia this offseason, and hasn’t played just yet, but he can make a big difference in the short and intermediate areas of the field.

Round 5, 143rd Overall: Dohnovan West, IOL, Arizona State

The work on the offensive line is not done here in this Giants mock draft, and with Ekwonu being a potential guard or tackle, Arizona State’s Dohnovan West will be making his impact on the interior.

West flashes very good movement skills and will be a big part of perimeter runs and working to the second level. He will mirror quicker rushers effectively in pass protection as well. His functional strength needs some work, but improving his leverage will be a big part in that.

Round 5, 154th Overall: Sam Williams, EDGE, Mississippi

Why not get little bit more help on the edge this late in the draft, especially with a talent like Sam Williams. Williams has the quick get-off, power, and athleticism to win in a variety of ways. His motor runs hot all game and he’s good at retracing his rush to stay in pursuit. Williams would work out very well as a rotational rusher early on.
