Round 2, 36th Overall: Ikem Ekwonu, OL, NC State

The New York Giants have had some struggles along the offensive line that have contributed to their issues on offense. Andrew Thomas has appeared more comfortable in year two, but the rest of the line is struggling. Nate Solder is on his last leg, and Matt Peart is coming along slowly in his development.

Wolfpack lineman Ikem Ekwonu can remedy the line at multiple position. He still plays tackle for NC State right now, but his best fit might come on the interior in the NFL. Ekwonu has a strong anchor, active hands, and is a mauler in the run game. Give him a chance to play right tackle but he could thrive at guard and help out the struggling interior.

Round 3, 67th Overall: Henry To’o To’o, LB, Alabama

Linebacker might not seem like a prominent need, but this Giants mock draft addresses here in the third round. Blake Martinez has done well in his role, but a torn ACL has ended his season. The rest of the room is extremely underwhelming.

Alabama linebacker Henry To’o To’o could bring life back to the linebacker room. He’s a do-it-all player who could thrive as a MIKE or a WILL backer. He’s great downhill against the run, with active hands to get through blocks and great instincts to take a strong path to the ball. His play speed is enough to carry running backs and tight ends in coverage, and he has the athleticism to play in space.

Round 3, 79th Overall (via MIA): Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State

It’s been a rocky road for Evan Engram since his rookie season, with injuries piling up season after season. It’s been the same in 2021, and with free agency looming for Engram, finding an impact tight end will be important for the New York Giants.

Trey McBride somehow still isn’t getting the national attention after the season he’s had so far, but it won’t be long. McBride is averaging nearly 100 yards per game to this point, and he’s a factor working both inline and in the passing game. He’d be a fun target for Howell.
