NFL Draft: Odafe Oweh, Jaycee Horn Rise In Week 2 Rookie Rankings
21. Patrick Surtain II, CB, Broncos
Another corner who got his first interception this past week, Surtain has been rotated in and out so far in Vic Fangio’s defense. He’s patient with good ball skills, and his snaps should only increase as the year goes on.
22. Devonta Smith, WR, Eagles
Smith takes a little bit of a tumble, but in an Eagles offense with an inconsistent quarterback and a scheme coming together, production may come in spurts. He’s still a great separator who should find success this season.
23. Alijah Vera-Tucker, OL, Jets
Vera-Tucker was the lone bright spot on offense for the Jets, and he’s been well worth his NFL Draft capital so far. He stays in the top 25 of the rookie rankings because of his anchor in pass pro and movement skills in the run game.
24. Pat Freiermuth, TE, Steelers
Production took a leap for Freiermuth in his second game of his career, and he’s been a force in the run game so far, holding his own at the point of attack and displacing defensive backs. He will only get better.
25. Samuel Cosmi, OT, Football Team
While pass protection has been a little inconsistent for Cosmi, the second round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft has been excellent as a run blocker. He gets to the outside shoulder with ease and turns defenders outside to create big creases.
Honorable Mentions
Both Elijah Moore and Kyle Pitts saw an increase in targets, and both should likely get on these rankings again soon. Cowboys defensive lineman Osa Odighizuwa has been a pleasant surprise thus far, showing great quickness as an interior rusher. Christian Barmore has played with good power and vision against the run, getting off blocks to make plays. Gregory Rousseau had two sacks, but needs more consistency snap to snap.
