Minnesota Vikings 2022 mock draft

3. Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College

With Justin Jefferson as the WR1 of the future and Adam Thielen capable of playing into his 30s, the wide receiver position is not a pressing need for the Minnesota Vikings but they could certainly use some depth here.

They lost Bisi Johnson for the entire 2021 season with a knee injury and have only KJ Osborn, rookie Ihmir Smith-Marsette, and Dede Westbrook behind those guys.

It’s a rather thin group at receiver for the Vikings, so we could see them go after a playmaker on day two of the 2022 NFL Draft and Zay Flowers definitely fits the bill.

Flowers has been the number one target of fellow 2022 NFL Draft hopeful Phil Jurkovec at the quarterback position, and all he’s been doing the last couple of seasons is making big plays.

Listed at 5-foot-10, 177 pounds, Flowers is not ideal when it comes to measurables but he is a big-time vertical threat in the passing game, averaging 21.3 yards per reception already in the young 2021 season and scoring 10 touchdowns in his last 14 games overall.

He would add a dynamic element of speed to go along with the players the Vikings already have plus Bisi Johnson when he returns to give this unit some nice depth.
