Jacksonville Jaguars 2022 mock draft

LSU. Ali Gaye. 4. player. Pick Analysis. Edge. 52. Scouting Report

At this point in the draft, it’s unlikely that you’re going to find immediate starters, so the goal is to build more depth.  At this point, the Jaguars have more outside linebacker type of edge rushers like Josh Allen and K’Lavon Chaisson, as opposed to 5-technique type of edge rushers which is what Ali Gaye would provide.

He’s got a large frame at 6-foot-6, 250 pounds and he wins with his strength and power.  At LSU, he has proven himself as a pass rusher as last season he registered 38 pressures.  He was inconsistent in other areas that he’ll need to get better at, but ultimately if you can get to the quarterback, you’re very valuable in this league.

52. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. TE. Cincinnati. Josh Whyle. 5. player

Jacksonville currently has four tight ends on their roster, but none of them are big pass catchers, and although he’s a later-round projection Josh Whyle has potential as a pass-catcher.

Whyle has displayed the type of consistency at Cincinnati that you want to see in a tight end.  Last season at Cincinnati he caught over 80% of his targets and didn’t drop a single pass, and also earned third-team All-American honors from PFF for what he does as a receiver.

Pick Analysis. player. 52. Scouting Report. OG. Arizona State. Dohnovan West. 5

The Jacksonville Jaguars should be investing multiple picks into offensive linemen this draft, as it is probably their biggest need.

Dohnovan West checks a lot of boxes of what you look for in a later-round offensive line selection.  He not only has the movement skills to stay with NFL defensive linemen, but he has experience playing both guard positions and center and has been solid as both a run blocker and pass protector at Arizona State.
