Jacksonville Jaguars 2022 mock draft
Probably the biggest flaw for the Jacksonville Jaguars that was apparent in Sunday’s game was the offensive line. Cam Robinson and Jawaan Taylor are two former second-round picks, however, they have each had their struggles in the NFL, so if they don’t improve this season Jacksonville needs to look at finding replacements in the offseason.
Zion Nelson checks off a lot of the boxes of a first-round tackle. He has the physical traits to succeed in the NFL as he’s got plus athleticism, good movement skills, good strength, and quick feet. To go along with those physical traits, he also has good technique in pass protection as he does a good job of reacting quickly to the snap, staying on his toes, and avoiding getting beat with speed and quickness.
With their second-round pick, I had the Jaguars addressing their offensive line, now they provide help for Trevor Lawrence in the form of a receiver.
If you think back to Lawrence’s days at Clemson, he works best with tall, possession receivers who can not only win in contested catch situations but can win on routes deep down the field.
Jalen Tolbert provides just that, he stands 6-foot-3 and that combined with his leaping ability and body control makes him very good in jump ball situations. He also has good speed and has shown in his time at South Alabama he can win on downfield routes.
