2022 Prospects On Tap

The WR report finishes up with the 2022 guys to look at this coming week. On Friday, Maryland visits Champaign, and the Illini could have their hands full with Dontay Demus Jr. Demus is a great vertical threat with the catch radius and fluidity to boot. A big game from him Friday night could give him more national attention.

Alabama receivers John Metchie III and Jameson Williams, the latter of whom is working his way onto the radar, draw a great matchup this week versus top 15 prospect Kaiir Elam from Florida. Metchie is a technician who will have to use his deception to separate, and Williams has the fluidity to challenge Elam’s great change of direction. It will be a fun battle all afternoon.

Memphis’ Calvin Austin III has gotten some recent attention with his speed, and getting a chance to win versus SEC competition from Mississippi State is a great opportunity. Jahan Dotson is another with a great release package and a penchant for winning downfield. He draws Nehemiah Pritchett and Roger McCreary this week in what should be a stellar whiteout game.

Kentucky wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson should be well on the NFL Draft radar by now, and could be the next player who gets Percy Harvin and Toney comparisons. His skill set with the ball in his hands is special.
