Malik Willis: 5 potential fits in the 2022 NFL Draft

5. Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons looked terrible in week one.

They were really, really bad.

With that being said, let’s see what the next 16 games bring for them.

For the time being, you can’t help but wonder why the Falcons didn’t take a shot at Justin Fields. If they really liked Trey Lance, why didn’t they make a big offer to move up from the fourth spot to the third spot?

Atlanta, another team on this list with a rookie GM (Terry Fontenot) and head coach (Arthur Smith) stuck with Matt Ryan for the 2021 season but based on what we saw from Smith in Tennessee, I don’t think Ryan is the ideal fit for his offense by any stretch.

Ryan Tannehill was having huge success in Smith’s offense and the running game was obviously crucial to that.

A player like Malik Willis is not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison with Tannehill, but he gives you a lot more options than Ryan does at this stage of his career.
