Malik Willis: 5 possible team fits in the 2022 NFL Draft
Malik Willis: 5 potential fits in the 2022 NFL Draft
4. Washington Football Team
The Washington Football Team only made one significant addition at the quarterback position in the 2021 offseason — signing grizzled veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Although Fitzpatrick has played well in his career, signing him at this age and stage of his career always presented an inherent risk, and unfortunately, he got hurt in week one.
Hopefully, Fitzpatrick will be able to get healthy soon, but his injury amplifies the team’s need to make a move at quarterback in 2022.
Washington tried to fix this issue with Dwayne Haskins in the 2019 NFL Draft, but Haskins flamed out in less than two years and is now a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The QB position will undoubtedly get a fresh look in 2022 and Malik Willis would be a lot of fun here.
Ron Rivera has been part of teams in the past with a quarterback that could beat you with his arm and legs, and in fact, he went to the Super Bowl with a guy like that in 2015 when Cam Newton was his quarterback.
Malik Willis, a player who actually transferred away from the Auburn program, could eventually have a massive impact on NFL games as a runner and thrower. I love Willis’ fit with the other offensive personnel in Washington at the skill positions and I think he would be a tremendous fit there in general.
