2. Detroit Lions

Similar to the Houston Texans, you can’t really talk about quarterbacks in the 2022 NFL Draft and not bring up the Detroit Lions.

The Lions — like the Texans — have a first-year GM in Brad Holmes (formerly of the LA Rams) and head coach in Dan Campbell.

Together, the two have assembled a roster that appears to most on the outside as one of the worst in the NFL.

The Lions sent Matthew Stafford to Holmes’ old team in Los Angeles and recouped some future draft capital along with quarterback Jared Goff.

Goff will be a placeholder for this team and time will tell if he can be more than that. The Los Angeles Rams obviously wanted to upgrade from him because they believed that he was not the tide that would raise all of the talented boats in Sean McVay’s offense.

Without a long-term solution at quarterback, the Detroit Lions could be a possible landing spot for Malik Willis.

He’s a dynamic talent throwing and running the ball and with the investments the Lions have made in the offensive line, they could have something intriguing brewing if they drafted him.
