Malik Willis is one of the most exciting quarterback prospects in the country. What teams might he fit with in the 2022 NFL Draft?

The NFL is always on the lookout for the next great quarterback prospect. As has been proven in recent years, it doesn’t matter if you come from an annual championship contender at the FBS level (Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Mac Jones), an FCS powerhouse program (Trey Lance), or an FBS Independent (Zach Wilson) — if you can play, the NFL will find you. Malik Willis has a chance to be one of the next stars of the NFL with his outstanding dual-threat abilities, and he’s firmly on the NFL radar after a huge 2020 campaign.

The 2022 NFL Draft may not have a group of prospects on the same level as what we saw in 2021 with Lawrence, Wilson, Lance, Fields, and Jones, but then again, maybe it will come close…

The 2022 NFL Draft is more likely to look like the 2019 or 2020 NFL Draft which featured some solid prospects and a handful of breakout players in each class. In 2019, Kyler Murray emerged as a number one overall pick and Daniel Jones gradually worked his way into the top 10. In 2020, Joe Burrow went from being barely a day three player to being the top overall pick without question.

The 2022 quarterback class will need players like Malik Willis to continually step up week in and week out to prove worthy of a top-10 NFL Draft status.

Willis has fascinating tools at the position and is gaining steam early in the 2021 college football season.

Which NFL teams might he be a potential fit for? Let’s take a look.

Malik Willis: 5 potential fits in the 2022 NFL Draft

1. Houston Texans

When looking at teams that might be a potential fit for one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft, you can’t go too much further than the Houston Texans, right?

The Texans have a first-year GM in Nick Caserio and a first-year head coach in David Culley who come from the Patriots and Ravens, respectively, and they are certainly out there making lemonade for the 2021 season.

No Deshaun Watson now and likely ever again for Houston means that the quarterback position is a top priority.

Malik Willis is getting some serious hype.

Although Tyrod Taylor played well in week one and Davis Mills was the team’s top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the QB position is unsettled over the long term in Houston.

Malik Willis brings a dynamic dual-threat ability to the position and might allow David Culley to do a lot of the same things he was doing in Baltimore with league MVP Lamar Jackson.
