Who are the top prospects to watch in the 2022 NFL Draft when Ohio State hosts Oregon?

It should be an excellent day at the Horseshoe, as Ohio State hosts an Oregon team that sits in the top 15 right now in the poll. The Buckeyes are rightly favored, but could get pushed if they come out like they did against Minnesota last week. In addition to being a good game, there will be plenty of 2022 NFL Draft prospects to watch in this one. Let’s take a look at who should have eyes on them today.

Ohio State Offensive Line

Kayvon Thibodeaux won’t play in this one, but the Buckeyes offensive line is still one to watch this week. Tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere had a good week transitioning to left tackle from right tackle last season, and it would’ve been great for him to get tested by Thibodeaux. Still, his movement skills and rock solid skills in pass protection should have him in for a rise in the 2022 NFL Draft if he keeps up his play. Thayer Munford kicked inside this year, and looked very good doing so. His draft stock might bump up as an interior talent.

Buckeyes Pass Catchers vs. Ducks Secondary

Everyone knows about how good Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave are, and they could finish as the top two in the 2022 NFL Draft rankings come next spring. It will be a test for them this week, as they get a Ducks secondary that features a couple draft prospects in their own right. Mykael Wright could give the two standouts some trouble this week in man coverage.

Jeremy Ruckert has plenty of fans in the draft sphere, but more consistency in both aspects of his game need to happen if he will be a top pick. He works well over the middle of the defense, an area patrolled by versatile defensive back Verone McKinley III.

Sevyn Banks’ Return

Buckeyes corner Sevyn Banks returns this week, and needs to have a big year to rise in what should be an unbelievable 2022 NFL Draft class at the corner position. He needs to be more efficient transitioning and attacking downhill, and he will draw speed this week with the playmakers that the Ducks have.

EDGE Rushers

Zach Harrison had a great first week, showing off the strength at the point of attack and the athleticism to win around the outside track. It shouldn’t be shocking for him to feast today against a younger Oregon offensive line.

Tyreke Smith is another to watch in this one, as he is looking to build on his stock as well. This could be a game he hangs his hat on to rise in a deep edge class.
