2. Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions are one of the teams in the NFL that is clearly in rebuild mode.

They traded away Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams and with their top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, they passed on the quarterback position (with Jared Goff in place) to take Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell.

Sewell is transitioning to the right tackle position at the next level, but it’s clear that the Lions are favoring rebuilding through the trenches first.

What better player to continue that in 2022 than Kayvon Thibodeaux?

Detroit doesn’t have the league’s most fearsome pass rushers, by any means, and as solid as Romeo Okwara and Trey Flowers have been, a player of Kayvon Thibodeaux’s caliber would be a godsend for Dan Campbell and general manager Brad Holmes.

Not to mention, this pick would mean back-to-back years of the Lions’ top pick being Oregon Ducks stud prospects.

If the Houston Texans are the current favorites to land the top pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions can’t be too far behind.
