2022 NFL mock draft: Picks 19-21
Surrounding Jameis Winston with as much talent as possible is a top priority for the Saints and besides Michael Thomas, they really don’t have much talent at receiver.
Garrett Wilson is pretty similar to Buckeye teammate Chris Olave, he projects as a very dependable receiver who is a good route runner, can separate at all levels of the field, and is capable of some spectacular catches.
With Stephon Gilmore wanting out and Devin McCourty heading into his mid-30s, the Patriots need to rebuild their secondary. Adding Brandon Joseph would be a good start to that.
Joseph, unlike a lot of other players in this mock draft, was not a high recruit, in fact, he wasn’t even a top 1,000 ranked player in 247sports composite rankings, however, he has proven himself after a very good season at Northwestern.
What he did in coverage last season has to make him a potential first-round pick. He had six interceptions, with just a 2.8 passer rating allowed.
After trading back in last year’s draft the Eagles netted themselves an extra first-round pick, which could make three first-rounders if Wentz meets his playing time requirements. So, with a third selection in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, the Eagles look to fill a need at edge rusher.
After Saturday night’s dominant performance it’s clear the Bulldogs have one of the best defenses in college football and Adam Anderson is a big part of that. He is a former five-star, who has been very efficient at rushing the passer in his time so far for Georgia and if he can put together a good full season this year he’ll likely be a first-rounder come April.
