2022 NFL Draft: Zach Charbonnet leads top performers in week one
By Ryan McCrary
2. Chris Olave, Wide Receiver, Ohio State
Last year, Chris Olave was a Draft Twitter darling, and some people thought he was worth a first-round pick. He elected not to go to the NFL and returned to Ohio State for one more season.
Olave is arguably the best receiver in the country, and he shined in Ohio State’s first game against Minnesota. He caught 4 passes for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also averaged a whopping 29.3 yards per reception, which is unreal.
He dominated the Golden Gophers not by beating them on deep routes but by taking advantage of their poor coverage and racking up yards after the catch. There were so many plays where Minnesota left him wide open, and he punished them for it.
Olave had a very good start to the season and should be one of the first receivers off the board in the 2022 NFL Draft.
