Believe it or not, there are some players on the Dallas Cowboys roster that don’t get the credit they maybe deserve. Who could have a big surprise season?

The Dallas Cowboys are set to kick off their 2021 season on Thursday night against the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It’s a tall order for the Cowboys to try and come out of the gates this season with a win against not only the reigning champs, but a team that managed to bring back every starter from last season and make improvements through free agency and the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Buccaneers are loaded, but the Dallas Cowboys have no shortage of star power either.

Still, as in-depth as everyone in the media goes for roster coverage these days, there are some Dallas Cowboys players that could have a surprisingly huge impact this coming season.

If these players can step up and reach their full potential, Dallas could be a contender out of the NFC East in 2021.

Which players might surprise in 2021?

Let’s take a look at three.

Dallas Cowboys: 3 surprise players in 2021

1. Blake Jarwin, tight end

Everybody has been focused on the return of Dak Prescott in the 2021 season for the Dallas Cowboys, and understandably so. Prescott was on his way to MVP candidacy prior to his season-ending injury and with the pace he was on last year, is it out of the question to think he could surpass 6,000 passing yards if he plays all 17 games in 2021?

If he’s going to do that, he’s going to need help from more than just his stellar trio of wide receivers.

Another player who is coming back after playing just one game in 2020? Tight end Blake Jarwin.

Coming off of a torn ACL in 2020, Jarwin was certainly trending up before he went down.

From 2018-19, he played all 32 games possible and had emerged as a possible long-term option at the tight end position for the Cowboys.

In those 32 games, Jarwin had six touchdown catches and he’ll try to reclaim that momentum again in 2021.

With Prescott back in the fold, the Dallas Cowboys will undoubtedly be throwing the ball a ton, and with the attention the receivers will command, it’s possible that Jarwin will benefit greatly.

I think he could be a major surprise player for Dallas in 2021 as they look to get back to relevance in the NFC.
