2022 NFL Draft: Sam Howell on top of NFL preseason mock draft
The Atlanta Falcons just spent a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on a cornerback prospect out of Clemson.
Could they go back to that well again?
In this scenario, it might make some sense.
The Falcons undoubtedly expect big things out of AJ Terrell in his second season with the team after a solid rookie campaign in 2020. Terrell has always had all of the physical tools to be a top-flight cornerback, and he has shown signs of being one of the best first-round picks from the 2020 class early on.
If the Falcons are picking this high in 2022, you have to think quarterback will once again be on the table.
If they miss out on some of the top prospects, a player like Andrew Booth joining AJ Terrell at the cornerback position in Atlanta is an enticing option.
A former five-star prospect with outstanding size, Booth has only played 14 games at Clemson but the early returns on him are outstanding.
He had a couple of interceptions in 2020 as well as three tackles for loss and a sack, as well as a fumble recovery and defensive touchdown.
His star is only going to continue growing.
As the 2021 college football season goes along, it will not be surprising in the least to see Booth really emerge as a CB1-caliber prospect for the Tigers.
