2022 NFL Draft: Sam Howell on top of NFL preseason mock draft
Los Angeles Chargers fans have to be absolutely thrilled with what the team has done over the past couple of years to get back into contention.
Justin Herbert is the obvious centerpiece for this team, but getting a top head coaching prospect like Brandon Staley who did incredible work last year with the Los Angeles Rams? That is a huge bonus.
It will be interesting to see how the Chargers adapt to a new offense under Joe Lombardi. He has certainly not had the greatest of success away from Drew Brees, but we’ll have to see what happens with Herbert.
For the time being, the Chargers have a really strong roster on both sides of the ball and Herbert should be expected to raise all boats.
Beyond the 2021 season, however, there could be some question marks at the wide receiver position.
How much longer will Mike Williams be a Charger?
The Chargers already said goodbye to Hunter Henry, so adding a playmaker early in the 2022 NFL Draft is definitely something to watch for.
Treylon Burks is a dynamic weapon at the wide receiver position with outstanding size, speed, body control, and after the catch abilities.
There are very few defensive backs that can out-physical Burks, and he is going to emerge in the 2021 season as a potential WR1 candidate in the 2022 NFL Draft.
