2022 NFL Draft: The top prospect from every top 10 ranked team
8. Iowa State Cyclones
Best 2022 NFL Draft Prospect: Breece Hall, Running Back
Discretely the Iowa State Cyclones have been one of the better teams in College Football. A large part of that is because of their head coach Matt Campbell who had interest from NFL teams during the past coaching cycle.
The most notable player to come out of Iowa State in recent memory is Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery. The best player who is currently at Iowa State plays the same position as Montgomery. The Cyclones have a special talent in running back Breece Hall.
Breece Hall is entering his junior year at Iowa State. He led the team in rushing his freshman year despite only starting seven of twelve games. He rushed for 897 yards on 186 attempts and nine touchdowns. As one of the nations best freshman he racked up numerous acolades after his first season including Second Team All-Big 12.
This past season Hall massively improved upon his perfromance from his freshman season. In twelve games Hall rushed for a nation leading 1,572 yards on 279 attempts and 21 touchdowns. He averaged 131 rushing yards per game. He added to his list of accolades by becoming the first unanimous All-American in Iowa State history, winning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All Big 12, and finishing sixth in the Heisman voting.
Hall became the first player in College Football to have 75+ yards and a rushing touchdown in all 12 games since NFL Hall of Famer and former TCU running back Ladainian Tomlinson (2000).
Hall is viewed as one of the best running backs that could enter the 2022 NFL Draft. If he continues playing as well as he has, he most likely be selected within the top-40 picks. A few teams who could add Hall to their backfield during the 2022 draft are the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and Arizona Cardinals.
